Man who killed his newborn son sentenced to 15 years behind bars
Danville, Virginia – A 23-year-old Danville man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the murder of his newborn son in 2020.
Kanyon Wade Guthrie was arrested and charged with criminal homicide and felony child abuse in the death of his 8-month-old baby on Aug. 20, 2020.
When SOVAH Health told them about the little boy’s death, police started the investigation approximately two months ago.
The child’s injuries were consistent with strangling, according to police reports from 2020.
Guthrie pled guilty to the murder of his kid on Oct. 25, 2021.
