Voter registration event to be held in Roanoke
Roanoke, Virginia – This weekend, the Roanoke Branch of the NAACP is hosting a voter registration event.
The 4th Annual Drive-Thru Voter Registration will take place on Saturday, September 4th.
Brenda Hale, the president of the organization, said they have seen high turnout in the past and are hoping for even more this weekend, particularly among Black voters.
She went on to say that the NAACP Roanoke Branch is the only one in Virginia to organize a drive-thru voter registration event. It will just take about five minutes to complete the process.
The Roanoke Branch NAACP Youth Council is also selling hot dogs and baked items to raise funds.
The event will take place at 2206 Melrose Avenue in Roanoke from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
