I-81 in Roanoke County reopened to traffic after a tractor-trailer fire
Roanoke County, Virginia – The Virginia Department of Transportation reports that a tractor-trailer fire in Roanoke County has been extinguished, which has enabled crews to reopen all of the northbound lanes on Interstate 81.
Motorists were informed about the tractor-trailer fire on I-81 in Roanoke County and were advised to seek an alternate route due to possible delays in traffic.
The incident at mile marker 139.8 of I-81 caused closures on all northbound lanes, according to the VDOT.
However, the scene has been cleared since and the road is now open to traffic.
