Father found not guilty of kid’s death
Covington, Virginia – A father has been found not guilty of charges related to his son’s death in Lake Moomaw.
Benjamin Jacobsen’s trial in Alleghany Circuit Court closed on Friday with a jury acquittal.
In January 2020, he and his wife, Carrie, were each charged with four counts in connection with the death of their toddler son in Lake Moomaw Park.
Before Benjamin was acquitted, all charges against Carrie Jacobsen were dropped, and all but two were dropped against Benjamin.
The prosecution presented evidence that the two-year-old kid had shot himself unintentionally after discovering a weapon under an air mattress.
