Emergency drill held at Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport
Roanoke, Virginia – Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport will hold a full-scale emergency drill between 6 and 9 p.m. to evaluate their response skills in the case of an emergency.
Hazardous materials simulation, injuries simulation, and multi-agency response will all be part of the drill.
Hazardous materials response will be practiced using an aircraft simulator, with simulated victims being triaged and transferred to LewisGale Medical Center and LewisGale Cave Spring ER.
The drill will take place in secured locations, and will have no impact on airport flight operations.
