Authorities investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Roanoke man
Roanoke, Virginia – The Virginia State Police are conducting an investigation into the fatal collision that occurred on July 24 in Charlotte County, which claimed the life of a 76-year-old man.
A report of a crash involving a single vehicle was made to the authorities just after 7 o’clock in the morning, and officers were sent to Drakes Main St. in response.
The 76-year-old Willis M. Muska of Roanoke was reportedly travelling south in a 2019 Subaru Outback when he went off the right side of the road, struck a tree and a mailbox, and then died as a result of his injuries.
Muska was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
According to VSP, Muska had his seat belt on at the time of the crash.
Authorities said driver fatigue might have played a role in the crash.
