Virginia Tech falls in NCAA Tournament opener to Florida, 75-70, in overtime
After leading for most of the game, the Virginia Tech Hokies went cold down the stretch, falling to Florida, 75-70, in the first round of their NCAA Tournament opener in Indianapolis.
Nahiem Alleyne scored 30 points, including a game tying three pointer with just under 2 seconds remaining. However, Keve Aluma and Justyn Mutts both fouled out in the extra frame, and the Hokies couldn’t keep pace down the stretch. Tyrece Radford finished with 16 points.
The Hokies finish 15-7 for the season. Florida advances to face the winner of #2 Ohio St./#15 Oral Roberts in the second round.
