Roanoke man found fatally shot identified
Roanoke, Virginia – The identity of a man shot to death in Roanoke has been disclosed by police.
Mario Green, 41, of Roanoke, has been identified as the victim.
On the night of December 22, 2021, at midnight, police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hanover Avenue NW. Green and a woman were discovered with apparent gunshot wounds. Green was pronounced dead at the scene, while the lady was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, according to authorities.
There have been no arrests. Detectives are still trying to figure out what led to the shooting, which is being investigated as a homicide.
