Residents from Roanoke nursing homes enjoying summer
Roanoke, Virginia – A local nursing home is starting off the summer season, showing that you’re never too old to have some fun.
Residents at Roanoke’s Friendship Health and Rehab Center had a great time being dragged down on slip ‘n slide while strapped to an inflatable duck.
“What surprised me is, I never expected it to go viral like it did; nice to see positive news like this take off, it’s great,” says Tiffany Brown, employee at Friendship.
The celebration was held as part of National Skilled Nursing Care Week, which is like a spirit week for nursing homes.
Organizers are also planning a live Candyland event for later this year, with treats and people dressed as the iconic board game characters included.
