Authorities identified the body found in West Virginia
Covington, Virginia – According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, the body of a man who was last seen in Covington was discovered over the weekend in West Virginia.
It was shortly before 7:30 in the morning on Saturday when deputies from Greenbrier County responded to a report of a body in the parking lot of the boat launch at Anthony on the Greenbrier River in Greenbrier County.
Officers reported they found a dead male body. According to the officers, they also made a request for a crime scene team to analyze the evidence at the spot.
The victim was identified by the authorities as James Simpson Jr., who was 58 years old and from Covington. An autopsy will be performed on his body at the office of the medical examiner in Charleston, West Virginia, in order to ascertain the reason for his death.
