Several charges filed against a teenager arrested following a police chase
Roanoke, Virginia – Several charges, such as felony eluding and hit-and-run, have been filed against a teenager after a police pursuit in Northwest Roanoke on Wednesday ended with his arrest.
According to the department, officers were sent to the 1500 block of Syracuse Ave. NW in response to reports of shots fired in the area.
A Roanoke police officer was responding to the scene when he saw a car leaving the scene at a fast rate of speed. He called for backup.
Police said they attempted many times unsuccessfully to stop the vehicle, which resulted in a chase that ended with the vehicle crashing on 13th Street NW near Hanover Avenue Northwest.
According to authorities, the boy who was in the automobile fled the scene and was captured soon after. According to the authorities, there were also two females under the age of 18 in the vehicle with the driver.
Roanoke Fire-EMS checked all three minors as a precaution, and no major injuries were recorded.
According to police, the boy who allegedly fled the scene was charged with felony eluding and hit-and-run and was transported without incident to the Roanoke Valley Juvenile Detention Center, where he remains in custody, according to police.
