Police investigating after body found in Martinsville
Martinsville, Virginia – Chief Eddie Cassidy of the Martinsville Police Department said that a body was discovered by a bystander in the city on Sunday night.
In the evening between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., the corpse was discovered in a ditch near Village Street. Cassidy said that the corpse had been there for quite some time and that the matter was being investigated as a murder at this point. According to the police, there is no danger to the public.
An autopsy will be performed by a medical examiner.
