Donate school supplies for Franklin County children
Franklin County, Virginia – The United Way of Roanoke Valley in cooperation with Franklin County Public Schools is hosting Pack the Bus school supply drive. Businesses and Franklin County community will have the opportunity to participate in it this year.
Anyone interested can drop school supplies like pencils, pens, notebooks, rulers, backpacks, markers etc. at the donation boxes displayed in front of businesses across the area until August 2, or at the special celebration at Franklin County High School on August 6.
Donated school supplies will be given to children in need from all grade levels.
“The effort this year is really important, considering the toll the past year took on area families. We’re hearing that there’s an increase in need this year, especially among students coming from lower-income, yet hard-working households where parents are really struggling to make ends meet,” vice president of resource development at United Way of Roanoke Valley, Alisha Childress said.
