Softball teams from across the country to participate in Roanoke’s Valley tournament
Salem, Virginia – This week, many softball teams are in the Roanoke Valley for a tournament.
On Monday, the USA Softball 16U and 18U Gold National Championship began.
Teams from all across the county came from the tournament with the ones from Oregon traveling the farthest.
Many hotels and local businesses will benefit from the week-long event.
“The most important thing is that we are packing people into our valley when most everybody needs it. Our hotels need it, our restaurants need it. So that’s why we are doing this, that’s why we are in sports marketing,” said John Shaner, a Salem Parks & Recreation Director.
The championship games will start on Saturday.
