Roanoke organizations making difference for Pride Month
Roanoke, Virginia – Two Roanoke organizations joined their forces to make a difference during Pride Month.
Weekly rainbow runs will be organized by The Roanoke Diversity Center and Run-About Sports.
On the first fundraiser night run on Wednesday around 50 people took place.
“Since we’ve moved into this new beautiful space, we’ve seen a huge uptick in the amount of participation and also a number of volunteers. So we want to use these funds to create more inclusive programming and stuff to bring the LGBTQ community together and be more president here in Roanoke,” president of the board of the Roanoke Diversity Center, Peter Volosin said.
The run will be held at Olde Salem Brewing Company every Wednesday.
